A few days back, I read in The Hindu that in Andhra Pradesh, people are earning their living by giving themselves as specimens to major drug companies to test their new drugs. Yes!! they are being used as guinea pigs!! I was shocked to read this news. In fact, these "specimens" are very ordinary people like auto-rickshaw drivers, loading-unloading workers and they are paid very well for this specimen jobs. The interesting part is that they go on their own will without having the least idea about the side-effects of the innumerable drugs injected into their body. The police is also quiet about this on the excuse that the victims go for it on their own will.
