I remember the movie The Village by Shyamalan, which depicts the story of a small self-sustaining community which was formed with 4 or 5 families. Due to the highly insecure life in the city, a few guys decide to move away from the city along with their family and settle down in a small village near the forest. They build a community out of these families in such a way that everything is available within the village. There is no need for the people to go outside the village. George and myself strongly feel that we need some such community in our world. Each person in the community should be responsible for something that he is good at. All the infrastructure related things should be taken care of. This should let each individual to pursue any field/work that they are passionate about and at the same time, contribute to the community in the area of their passionate work/field. But there should be some motivation for people not to move out of this community. In fact, in the movie, in order to restrict the people from going outside the village, the elders of the village build up the scary story of some fictitious creatures who would attack anyone who leave the village and cross the forest. Perhaps, we should think of something similar :-)
